When flammable liquids flow through a hose, the friction caused by the flow can lead to static electricity buildup. If not properly dissipated, this accumulation can cause sparks, which pose a significant fire or explosion risk, especially in hazardous environments like fuel depots or underground mining operations.
To prevent ignition hazards, Petroline incorporates a built-in stainless steel anti-static wire that:
- Extends the full length of the hose
- Is earthed at each coupling to maintain electrical continuity
- Safely dissipates static charges, protecting operators and equipment
This feature is essential for maintaining compliance with safety standards and ensuring safe fuel handling in hazardous zones.
